Description
This resource is designed to bring awareness to students in ways that their Eco-footprint can negatively impact the Earth, and alternative ways of minimizing one's impact on the Earth.
Students will:
- analyze their Eco-footprint by completing a home survey
- take part in a eco-footprint word search
- complete various worksheets on controlling ones Eco-footprint
General Assessment
Strengths
- This resource is well laid out and easy to use
- Provides fun, blackline masters for students to increase their understanding of issues addressed.
- Resource is current and up to date
Weaknesses
- Students do not take part in authentic action experiences
- A personal affinity with the Earth and non-humans is not encouraged.
- Majority of the activities are simulation or worksheet based.
- Students do not have opportunities to choose elements of their own programming
To enhance this resource the following changes are strongly recommended:
- This resource should be used as a piece of a larger unit of study on minimizing ones Eco-footprint
- Students should participate in authentic action experiences
